Online Psychiatry and Telehealth Mental Health in Texas

South Texas Mental Health Associates offers secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth psychiatry and online mental health services to patients throughout Texas. Our board-certified psychiatrists and licensed therapists provide medication management, psychiatric consultations, and therapy follow-ups via secure video platform, giving you access to expert mental health care from the comfort of your home.

Telehealth is not a lesser form of care. It is a convenient, effective way to maintain continuity with your psychiatrist or therapist without the time, travel, and scheduling constraints of in-person visits. Research consistently shows that telehealth mental health services produce outcomes comparable to in-person care for most psychiatric conditions.

Telehealth psychiatry, also called telepsychiatry, is the delivery of psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, medication management, and therapy through secure video conferencing technology. During a telehealth appointment, you meet with your psychiatrist or therapist face-to-face via a HIPAA-compliant video platform, just as you would in an office visit. Our telehealth platform is accessible from any smartphone, tablet, or computer with a camera and internet connection. No special software downloads are required.

Services Available Via Telehealth

Most of our psychiatric services can be delivered effectively via telehealth. Some services, such as TMS therapy and certain initial comprehensive evaluations, require in-person visits. Your provider will let you know if an in-person appointment is needed.
