Understanding online psychiatry

The same care, from wherever works

Online psychiatry is real psychiatric care delivered by secure video. It is the same team, the same evaluation, the same follow-up rhythm, and the same commitment to getting your plan right. The only difference is you are joining from home, work, or wherever fits your schedule.

STMHA's telehealth is HIPAA-compliant, and your provider sees you on screen the same way they would in the exam room. Your first visit is 60 minutes with a psychiatric provider. Follow-ups are typically 20 to 30 minutes, scheduled every 4 to 12 weeks depending on your medication and how you are responding.

Online psychiatry is a strong fit for many conditions: depression, anxiety, PTSD, adult ADHD, and bipolar disorder. There are limits: stimulant medications for ADHD may require an in-person visit at our San Antonio clinic on NW Military Highway per state and federal rules. Your provider will explain what applies to your situation.
